I got some news today that there has been some tuning on a TSM car on a chassis dyno. Here is the dyno graph from a TSM legal stock block 109 with a legal Precision 70 turbo. This was after several pulls on the dyno and tweeking the fuel and timing tables..

Look for some big numbers in TSM later this year. :D

Post up on rpm and sae vs std thats pretty stout number ;)

The last time this particular engine was on that same dyno it made 664hp at the rear tires and ran low 9s.. I can only imagine what it's gonna do now..

Do you have the output @ rpm? i am just wondering how you get that much power at such low speeds (assumed low rpm). Awesome stuff.

Lotta power from the little 109!

How long are 109 blocks going to hold together at those power numbers?
John

I think it's pretty safe to say it will hold together a lot longer on a dyno than it will on the track. Make sure it has an engine diaper!!!!

you would probobly need two diapers for that car !!! One for the motor and the other for the driver... he he. Bad a&% car !!! good luck !
Steve

The Dynojet dynos load a car pretty hard. It feels like you are pulling 4 semi trailers up the side of a mountain when your in the car. You are also loading it for a longer period of time on the dyno than in a low 9 sec pass.

Jason, the next time you see him, tell him big congrats on that number. Totally amazing. I cant believe they made that many pulls on the 109 at the power levels they were producing. Definately speeks volumes for the talent behind that car:smile:

Sam, if that is the case then I wonder why all the carnage happens at the track compared to the dyno?? I look forward to hearing some updates when this particular car gets to a track.

Sorry Brick didn't mean to affend you. This is somthing that is arqued by experts all the time.

People usually dont talk about carnige on the dyno but when it happens on the track it cant be ignored. In my opinion the dyno is harder on the car because you are running the the car with the trans in the 1:1 ratio position on the whole pull. When on the track you are only in 3 rd gear for about 3 seconds on a 9 second pass.

The last time I ran our car on a dynojet the headers were glowing so hot you could see through the headers insie to the egt probes. The motor sounds so much more intense when you are inside a building at over 7,000 RPM.

Brick you may be right, this is just my opinion. One thing is for sure there is a difference between running the car down the tack and running it on a dyno.
The bottom line is tha is an impressive horse power number for a stock block TSM legal car:eek:

All I can say is I never would have thought a 109 would stay together more than one pull at this type of power level. Clearly they can with the right parts and people. This engine is definately gonna be put into the hall of fame when it's all said and done!

Hey a pull on the dyno is less than a second at that power level . Sam i think your confusing a dynojet and a mustang dyno, you can load the mustang dyno and the numbers are lower the dynojet is just spinning the rollers .
