How exactly do you install a blow off valve, and where can i find them, and what is the average cost? Thanks.

Turbonetics or Innovative sell the Godzilla big one, can't remember which company but it's on the website.

GReddy makes them and a board member sells them, getting one for my car if I ever paypal him the $$$. Largest size with largest spring for my car and most GN's I would think, non-Stage cars that is.

They go on the intercooler outlet or up-pipe before the throttle body.

Usually a welded flange.

You should try using the SEARCH feature sometime...you'll be amazed how fast you can reseach something thoroughly on your own...and read through a dozen or more threads where it has been discussed before. Afterwards, if none of the available info answered your question, post your Q to see if someone can help further.

Using the SEARCH feature is a very "nice" thing to be able to do!

Tons of info within seconds on most recurring topics is awesome!

Also, you will see on many topics, there is no one "best" answer for everyone.

We use the Procharger BOV on DFI cars, works excellent and moves some MAJOR air....though I would look into a couple of bosch or mitsu valves since on a MASS AIR car you will need an inlet and OUTLET to the BOV, any air that comes out MUST go back in or when the valve opens (if it opens to atmosphere) and there is no provisions back into MAF pipe after MAF sensor you will stall the car and load it with fuel!

two lane... sorry for taking it the wrong way, after going over it again, i realized that you werent meaning it the way i took it. Been in a bad mood lately, lost a good friend in a car accident a week ago, and really havent gotten over it yet, and doubt i will anytime soon. Thanks for the info, i did search, and found some stuff to help me out. Here at school we have a bunch of import folk that can help me out with the actual installation, which will be a great bonus. Once again, sorry for being such a dick earlier. Also, thanks for the advice from the other posters.

You adapt the BOV onto any section of piping (even the intercooler) that is on the pressure side between the turbo and the throttle body.

You can find them from me! I think I am one of the only vendors that sells the Japanese stuff. I sell all of the Japanese stuff for that matter.

The kits that I sell (APEXi, Blitz, Greddy and HKS) are $200-$250 depending upon what you want. You can dump the air to atmosphere, or you can recirculate the air to the intake. On Mass Air Flow cars, the recirc is most desirable, but many GN guys using BOVs that dump to atmosphere do not have problems. You have to tune the BOV to get satisfactory results. The tuning is very easy. Just one screw.

Two thoughts on BOV:
1. Talked with Jack Cotton at length on the subject. He sells them to stick shift folks mostly. He has the Godzilla (?) in stock but would not recommend one that large for my car (mostly stock).

2. ATR sells a BOV which is reasonably priced and "should be" appropriately sized for our cars.

This may not be correct. I didn't check it out for myself, but bruce once posted that the ecm takes care of that via DFCO (decelleration fuel cut off). This assumes use is as a bypass/blowoff and not as a pop-off.

The stumble from getting on, off, and back on the throttle under boost may just be due to the compressor stalling.
