Blue spring missing on 700r4 2-4 servo

The servo is set up per transgo instructions. (discradarded snap rings etc.) but it is missing the blue spring.

Its a trans from a friend. Spring is nowhere to be found

Would running the trans without that spring burn the band? hurt it in the long run?

It is a Corvette servo.
