bought a bad translator off ebay

I bought a bad translator off ebay. I tested the car with it and it caused it to run rich. Tried every setting possible for my setup and nothing helped. Tried a friends that he's been running for more than two years and it worked fine with my setup so obviously the one I bought is bad right? Contacted the guy I bought it off of and he hasn't gotten back to me yet on how to resolve the issue. How do I get in touch with ebay and paypal to intervine. I should mention that I bought it a month ago and finally put it in, is there any hope of me getting this resolved? I only spent 50 bucks on it but I don't want this guy getting away with selling junk.

I would start with a quote from TurboBob the designer, for a repair.

He normally is quite reasonable in fixing used units from what I've seen on the boards.

He doesn't like seeing used/damaged merchandise out there, especially since the product is usually very reliable.

Perhaps the seller would agree to pay his repair price?

I believe the repairs could be co-ordinated through Mike L. at Full Throttle Performance.

That's the route I would take even if he wouldn't pay the repair bill, you should end up with a working unit with upgraded software/hardware if needed still at hopefully a resonable price.

Gonna be hard to prove that a month later an electrical part was bad.
