Overheard someone talking about putting a Blow of Valve on the cross over pipe. Anyone heard of this tech tip?

I think they were talking about a wastegate. While I have not personally done this I have some friends who have installed wastegates on the crossover and say it works well.

Yup, what Ray said. Your probably thinking about a wastegate. Guys usually put a race-gate or delta-gate in the crossover pipe. I have one in mine and I run the factory exhaust. I get the quiet sound when driving around and when it is floored it gets a little loud but definitely helps reduce back pressure with the factory piping.

Do you have to disable/remove the main wastegate? If so, what needs to be done.

It's positioned on the drivers side part of the down pipe as high as possible. I have a small amount of tubing in the crossover pipe welded to a flange so I can easily remove the wastegate. It exhausts straight down to the ground.

I originally wanted to run dual waste gates having the one on the turbo set at a decent pressure just incase the other one fails. But I don't have a heavy duty actuator so I just hose clamped the swing valve close for the time being. This is just temporary.

So the exhaust side of the waste gate is not even connected to the down pipe or exhaust?

That's right. Like I said, it is kind of loud. You could run piping into the exhaust past the down pipe.
