Can low AFR like 10.5 readings on pump gas cause the engine to break back at WOT only or do I need plugs , these plugs, wires are new and cold range set at 30ths , do I need a hotter plug or less fuel , have anyone has this problem ? Boost is set at low 17lbs

I changed the plugs again ngk r5671a-7 is what Im using and its the hottest in the non projected tip , they are set at 28th out of the box , Im put them at 30ths and changed the oxygen sensor and my blms are 120 driving around in places , what does a turbo surge feel like , Im about at the corner and do not know witch way to go . It feels like break back to me or a fast surge , I have been in automotive 40+ years so I have seen a bunch of junk in my career . My concern is if I can not get it perform at low boost Im not going to turn the wick up until I get it running properly . Anyboby got any ideas ? The old plugs looked great fwiw .

I target 10.3 AFR with alky. Zero issues. Plug gap at 28. My boost is higher though. You might turn the boost up and see if it clears up. There are many things that could cause your problem. Bad Coil/Module. I see you have a volt booster with your alky. That's a possible issue with some guys. Can you post a Powerlogger log when the problem occurs. That might help use find the problem fast.

I unpluged the alky system trying to get it to run right before turning it back on , Im going to order a new coil and module and go from there and see what happens , try to get logger file and see if I can post it . I will try bypassing that booster also , thanks for the suggestions .What would be a target afr with just 93 pump gas ?

You might post a log before you buy parts. You could save some money by not throwing parts at it yet. Your car is far from stock.:D Let's see a log my friend.

I need a spare system anyway so its on order , you need spare parts if you work on these beast . I will try a log tomorrow , I know its far from stock , that the biggest problem with it , Im going to hard knocks school and am failing LOL!!!!

If your problem only happens with higher boost then its ignition related typically. If it happens with RPM's then its springs.

two things on your mod list look out of place. the intercooler and the smc alky kit just saying

what intercooler do you recomend , I was thinking it was small for what I want to do , as for the springs they are new bee hive from Full Throttle and cam kit also is new from them also with new gn1 heads . I have the smc unhooked at this point , I do not plan to run it if and was thinking of your system but only if I get the car to run first . This problem is happening at low boost , this engine has only about 300 miles on it

For a driver a stretch IC would be fine.

10.5 afr it will pull clean at that level.

I notice the 72lb injectors? Those are typically low impedance.. your computer is modified to run those correct? I would say standard heat range plugs like TR6's at 30-32 gap should be fine. Like you said, get it running at low boost.. so putting in cold plugs gapped down only adds drama.

May need to triple check your engine grounds, power connections at the starter, and start looking for any abnormalities on the scan tool.

From there since you have a wideband, make sure its not leaning out at wot. I'd hookup the WG tuner style or unhook the arm if its stock style actuator to slow down the boost coming up and allow you to figure it out.

Not to discount your settings on the cam sensor where done correctly, you tried rebooting the ecm by disconnecting power to it, verified fuel pressure making sure it stays 1:1 with the boost. So 17 PSi=60 psi fuel rail pressure at WOT.

I just got a ecm from Bob Baliey that works with them injectors last week so I believe that I would rule that out , The wb is showing 10.5 at full boost steady so I do not believe that is lean , this is a brand new AEM inline just installed , I have looked at all grounds and have found none out of place or not grounding , this car has perfect drive ability hot or cold till boost at the top of the boost . Thanks for all the suggestions and hopefully the new coil and module will do something , it has been a nite mare . On the scan tool all readings look in line , I mostly look at the power logger reading , they are on a nice screen layout .

If its at full boost, then its ignition related. Thats why I suggested bringing boost down.. as low as it will go. Its easier on a weak ignition if thats the case

Sounds like a plan

If it's a an Alky chip, there is no limiter. A regular street chip usually does have a limiter, around 5800-6000 depending on the setup.

what does it do at that rpm cut fuel off or ignition or both , does it studder or what ? I hope that is not what I been chasing !!!!
