anyone ever had a cpt 66 break the shaft?mine broke today at 4200 rpm at 60 mph.i was starting to tune on the car made 2 passes at 17lbs of boost 60 injector duty cycle then went to 21 pound got alittle knock like2 degrees added some fuel got in it easy bringin up boost then heard a hiss sound then a pop and grind sound and a major smoke show.i pulled the turbo off and the compressor wheel was broken
so i took off the exaust housing and the wheel feel out it broke right at the seal.i cant get the shaft out because it broke at the fat part of the wheel so i can hold it to break the nut of the intake side.what caused this do you guys think.i ordered a cpt70 to stepup a little and dont want this to happen again.is the cpt 70 a good turbo?i liked the 66 but thought i would step up a little since i had to buy it anyway and i havent got my converter yet.
