Yeah the budget is a major factor. Got $2500 to spent? You could do a ball bearing billet 67mm or 70mm turbo. That way you may be able to get by without changing converters. You have the extra cubes so that helps. I think you should start out on the one nozzle and low boost then add another when you max it out.

i will sell my 3.8 toward turbo 1500 budget i dont know what it all means strim te i have a 60 now will that run ok on it

Yeah it will work fine and you can tell what you need to do from there. You could find a lot of options for $1500. Billet, non-bb, and a q trim exhaust wheel may take you a long way. Read the sticky at the top of the section. they will give you a better understanding of the different turbo options.

I went with a 64e on my 257c.i. 4.1. I havent run the car yet but i do feel it's going to work perfectly with my Pats 3200 LU converter.

If your converter cant be locked at WOT or you have a stock block you will be severely limited in the amount mph you will be able to reach without engine failure. Id target 130mph and no more. If budget is of concern id go with a journal and you are probably limited to a small p-trim or if you can swing it a turbo with a 65 ex trim. If you plan on going under 125mph in the quarter a 62 p trim is plenty.

everyone is saying the 4.1 wont hold up to much, but 130 ill be happy there just looking for mid 10s. bison i have a 212/ 212 hyd flat tappet cam will this be enough cam it should be about 488/488 with the 1.65 rocker

Thats plenty of cam. Keep it out of detonation and it should last a while

I got a PT 74HPS Dbb on mine and it feels good. But I'm thinking about switching up to a billet sometime after the summer.

Production 4.1’s are no slouch when built right..... A local has gone a 9.92 @ 138 mph at Reynolds. Turning it 6900 rpms at 28 psi, currently they are looking for new convertor as it's driving through the old Art Carr Non L/U. No hard block fill, no girdle, just 2 steel caps. Weight of car is 3620 with working A/C and no driver.

Has 3.600 crower crank and a "good" set of rods. Right at 270 CI. Car made several 9 second passes at reynolds. To keep from blowing thru the converter he turned timing down to 20 degrees up top with c-16. Cal was trying to calculate HP and it seems to be making around 150hp per cylinder at the flywheel to run those kind of numbers. Around a 224/224 custom grind cam. The car continues to go faster ever outting......

Tunner is looking for 140 mph at the Turbobuick.com Nat's
