Ok, I just did this to see if it could be done. Its not a power house but about all of it was done with junk yard/left over parts. I need to finish a little of exhaust work because it is leaking where the up pipe joins the manifold. It has a hot air exhaust manifold and turbo and a 4.1 intake and carb along with some wal-mart stuff too. No negativity please;) .It runs pretty good and seems dependable. It has a stock carb and I'm sure it would be better with a "blow through" carb but this what I had on hand so I used it.

GReat work.. I know what you mean when people post negative comments on you blood sweat and tears.. Not to mention hard earned $$$ enjoy it..

You must have a forgiving wife. If I took anything out of the kitchen to use on my car my girlfriend would kill me. What kind of boost are you running with that carb? It looks cool. Keep us updated. good luck

The carb bonnet is a $5.00 camping pot found in the camping section at wal-mart. It took 15 minutes to cut a hole for the 2.5" galvanized threaded nipple to fit. I left the handle on the pot just for fun. The $5.00 pot fit perfectly over the carb. I priced carb bonnets on ebay and they were from $85 up to $200 and served the same purpose as this one. The hoses from the turbo to the bonnet could be a little neater..I'll be working on that.

As far as boost goes, I don't have a gage on it yet but I'm guessing 4-5 psi max. one of the rubber boots at the turbo and bonnet is thin rubber and actualy "swells" up when under back pressure after spool up. I need to work on this area. I need to work on fuel pressure as well. Its dialed in ok but could be a bit better.

This is cool. Need to get alky though. Then go spank some new Mustangs. You could do a cold air kit out of old rain gutter down pipe.

Happy spoolin...

Gutter pipe!!! You think I'm a redneck or something?lol;) I'll tell ya, there's nothing on this build that has newer than 1960's techknowledgy in it. Stock 4 bbl carb, dual points distributor, a pot, some plumbing supplies and a turbo. I have an old pesticide sprayer in the shed that I can get a hose and adjustable nozzel from for the alky but I'm not sure about the pumping device. Washer fluid pump perhaps??
