C-clip Moser Axles

How much power will the Moser 28 spline axles hold using clips? I just got new Weld Wheels and was thinking of using a larger stud since I will need a small wheel spacer. 15x8 wheel with a 4 1/2 backspacing.

I went with 1/2 studs 3" long. Same wheel and back space, used 5/16" spacers to get everything to clear. Got no idea how much hp the axles are good to.

i went 1.52 60ft on the moser 28.inmo you will break the center section before the 28 moser.

Jason, was that with the factory differential or an aftermarket?

I did manage to break a moser 28 spline but that was after many 1.4xx launches, [with stock diffs] I really think your weight has a little to do with it also. A good practice if you race quite a bit is to pull the axles and check for spline twisting as a maintenance item every so many passes. If you keep your 60 foot times in the 1.5-1.6 range ypu probly wont have any issues.

I broke the center section before the moser axles.shattered into lots of pieces.

Mine was factory housing and posi unit. Never hurt the axles. Below 1.4 60' in a heavy car I would upgrate posi unit to spool IMO.

Ive got about 30 t-brake hits on my 28 spline mosers and probably 500 quarter mile passes. They have been in the car for 15 years and never had a problem.

No-one asked, but my vote would be to add the Moser housing ends with the 9" bearing and corresponding axles in lieu of the Eliminator kits.

Seems like cheap(safe) insurance to me. Should have changed them years ago.

Found my answer. Moser axles are made for use of 1/2 studs.

I would agree. Upgrading to Ford ends allows you to go to better brakes down the road too..

I like them because it is not a bandaid and potential leak, but then again I have the tools. !
