With the West Coast Nats coming up I'm looking into filling a couple of the holes in my combination. The most obvious is a set of slicks (which I'm working on). Next up is a bigger turbo. My question is, although it may not be the ideal setup can my 50 lb injectors and Walbro 340 feed a TE45A turbo enough fuel to improve my ETs or does a TE45A turbo upgrade mean I'm in double pumper and 72# injector territory only? Thanks. :)

most would say yes you need bigger injectors but why go low impedance when racetronix has the new 57 pound hi impedance injectors?

I was asking just because if you look at my signature the 50# injectors are what I have right now. Basically I wanted to know if in the short-term I could improve my times with a bigger turbo without upgrading the injectors and fuel pump. Eventually I'd upgrade the pump and injectors, but for right now I have to do with what I've got. Right now, the question is how much does my existing fuel system have left?

ya i think you can do it but you would be pushing it with those heads/cam and those injectors with that much turbo IMO.

You have a solid second of room left with your car's fuel system, 50's & a 340 are safe down to 11.20's @ ~120 mph.

my single 340 goes 10:50s with 95 lbs,ers 28 lbs boost. no fuel problem yet.

Sure, you can run 50's with a 45A, and you will make more power at lower boost than with the ta49. Just be aware that you have more airflow available than fuel flow, so don't turn the boost up past what your 50's can handle. With any new combo, start a little rich and with low boost and work your way up until something limits you, then back off a hair :-). Later, when you go to bigger injectors, you'll be able to turn the boost on up some more.
