Can i start my GN with no turbo on it?

Ok what my question is. Can I start it let it idel with no turbo im trying to figger out if my engine is good and just my turbo is bad. Will it hurt it if I start it with out it on there? Thanks

You would need to plug the oil feed line so oil doesnt go everywhere...

Other than being really loud, there wont be any damage done to the car.

It probably wont idle too well.

Ive done this on the 86 and 87 cars...

You can not start a HOT AIR car without a turbo on it. Actually, you can, but you would have to plumb the throttle body up to the rear of the intake where the turbo sits on the intake.

I was thinking....WTF.. if he goes out to start it would probably rev to the moon without a throttle body hooked up!

you can start it without a turbo on a hotair car. its just going to be very hard and take some knowledge. this will be a 2 person job to make sure everything goes right. i can get into detial but like said about it will rev to the moon if not done right. if you want to attempt this just make sure the hole in the back of the intake is sealed of about 95% of the way. you dont need to hook the throttle body up to it.
