On Sunday May 2nd there is a great car show at the Isle Casino and Hotel in Waterloo, Iowa. It is the Black Hawk County Street Machines Spring Fest show. There are usually about 350 cars at the show and some really nice ones show up. The most Turbo Regals I have seen at this show is three, but that includes mine. :)

In the past it has been in downtown Waterloo in kind of a 50's and 60's setting. This is the first year it is in a parking lot at the Casino. I think it will be great since there will be a lot of cars to see and if you get bored you can always eat and gamble. :)

Hmmmmmm......I'm going to a show in Altoona on May 1. Might just have to take 1 TR to the Saturday show, and the other to the Sunday show.....

Oh wow right when the car shows and cruises are starting up my car decides to give up. :(

And for anyone that has met my dad Jose, I am his son with a 87 gray T, Luis. :)

Hey dude, how did your car "give up"? You guys will get that beast back on the road in no time!

Latest forecast is for rain Saturday and Sunday. Nice. :( Sat was my wash and wax day, but this isn't looking like it will be a go for me. The show is rain or shine, but I can't break the "not rained on" streak going for 13 years.

Keep watching the forecast....if it indeed does rain, that puts me out as well. But I'm gonna try like hell!

...Saturday looks better than Sunday....maybe you should try to trek down to DSM and join me at the Altoona show??

Well, the forecast has changed. Rain on Saturday and sunny on Sunday now. I guess I have no excuses to not get the car ready now. :)

Let the prep begin with getting the locks in shape.

8am-4pm. Car registration is from 8-12. Most people get there around 10. There should be plenty of room at this casino so things shouldn't get backed up. I am not sure if D.PHILIPS is going but he was there last year.

Wow, there is a record turnout of 426 cars here. I have pics to post of the show later. Good luck in the judging TR people. That frame off resto is very nice Kieth.

Well, the results are in. 4th place in our class went to the white '83 Monte SS that was in front of my car. Kieth, your GN got third place. The black '87 Monte SS with the cowl hood got second and my car garnered 1st. I am not sure how they are going to get your trophy to you since they are like three feet tall. I really think the GN should have grabbed first. The MCSS that got second was nice, but it needs to be lowered at least two inches. It looked like a 4x4.

I am not sure how Doug did. I followed you guys down the highway and put my car away and then drove back for the awards. It just sprinkled a bit but it looked plenty threatening.

It was nice meeting everyone! I will post up the movies and pics soon.

Here's a teaser. :)

Well....how bout that. :) Congrats on the 1st place finish...VERY WELL DESERVED. ;) It was nice meeting you and chating. We opted to take hwy 20 over to I-35 to try to miss the weather....did a great job until Ames. :frown: Then it poured on and off all the way to DSM. Oh well....it was well worth it, I had a great time. Shoulda brought some sunscreen though...guess I'm officially a Redneck. Looking forward to meeting up again soon!! Thanks for the invite!! ---Keith

Here are some pics from the show. Sorry for the quality, but I forgot my good camera and had to take these with my 3.2megapixel Blackberry camera.

I am still not hearing too well from being staged by that speaker system. How about you, Keith? Yes, I am now a redneck as well. Sunscreen is indeed a good thing.
