Looking for anyone here who can recommend a Canadian trans shop - close to the Toronto Area.

I think my trans is my weak link and needs a rebuild. Im thinking Art Carr super rebuild kit w/ shift kit also and maybe a deep pan. My sig shows what I have done to the car performance wise and I plan for an IC and other things....

Anyone help ?

Mike at Trans-ware, does most of ours around here. He knows his Buick stuff.

As Chris mentioned, feel free to contact me with your parts needs.

We have heard great things about Mike at transware, as well as a friend of mine has his work done there for his GN, the tranny is holding up well and Transware has top notch service.

Checkout www.CKPerformance.com for a list of the parts offering, if I have what you need in stock, we can have them to your trans shop pretty quick.

Thanks!

Hey guys...thanks a lot for the help. Paul - thanks for that number and address too. That will be put to good use in this comming week when I figure out what I need done.

I know the square root of nothing when it comes to my tranny. After reviewing CK's site - I am confused a lil on what parts (internally) I will need (or I shud use). I want a strong trans (doesnt everyone) and you can see by my sig below what I have done to the car.

I have plans for an IC / intake kit very soon and some other things. Aiming for 12's.

Even after reading the Trans 'Sticky' in that forum on strenghtening the TH2004R - I just dont know what exact parts I want or need....therefore I cant order specifics.

Then theres the converter - another thing I know little about. What do I need here ??

Trans-ware sounds good and its pretty close to home too. I need to know what you guys would recommend parts-wise to me and then I could figure out labour cost with Mike at Trans-ware.

I really like the HD stock GN trans CK sells - and i'm thinking that mine should be something like that....plus a new converter - but which one ?

a 4340 shaft forward drum, recalibration kit ,heat treated stator tube, and our stage 1 master overhaul kit will work .these items when properly installed will furnish reliability in the 400 horsepower range.these parts are used in our stage 1 transmission.also the kit has all the pump parts ,(ie boost valves, new seperator plate.)to get the hydraulics working properly.some are able to go in the 11s with the stock drum but i dont reccomend it.anyhow if you arent ready for a drum now the other parts are mandatory.the drum is not going to effect shift quality ,but it can snap leaving you stuck without notice and the vehicle will not move.

Hotsix,

I had my transmission and my spare transmission rebuilt by Trans-Ware and I am very happy! Mike knows how to build these and will have all of the parts that you need.

Give Mike a call and either take the car there or take just the transmission and he will fix you up.

Good luck,

Trans-Ware

Paul - thanks for the reply.

I think we exchanged e-mail a few years ago about GN's. I'm done the car now - except for the trans and its getting done now.

What did it cost you at trans ware and what parts did you include in the rebuild ?

If you want a great tranny send me a p.m. and i will let you know who i use.
You will not be dissapointed!

I believe we did talk a couple of years ago, your name is Matt?? If you want you can email me and I will let you know the price.

Cheeseburger, I assume you are talking about Harry at Milton Transmissions? It seems like people in the Toronto area either go to Trans-Ware or to Harry at Milton Trans.

Cheers,
