Contact the Wisconsin DMV and do not warn him. Tell him after you contacted the dmv. He seems like a fraud and needs to be treated like the dirt he is.

I agree but if the OP wants any compensation he won't get it that way because the seller is caught and will have no reason to compensate. He did not break any laws with the odometer claim. Only jumping titles.

How will the seller compensate if he's a frauding ass? He won't even if he warns him especially if he has done it before. I'd take the hit, depending on the sum of money, and make the law go after his ass. That way for all future instances, he will be watched and will have a record.

I would too!

What's the price difference between a 87 turbo t with 58,000 miles compared to 158,000 miles in the same exact condition? $8,000 dollar difference?? That's a big hit!!

Yup and usually a very obvious difference when you look at those two mileages. There definitely can be a nice 158k car but there are tell tale signs more often than not about the true mileage without much digging

This will all be up to the OP as to what he decides to do. His only play is to hope the seller would rather satisfy him or face the DMV on the title jump. The mileage on the bill of sale may be a contractual issue in court but the state law doesn't care about it.

Then the OP would have to sue the seller in his state costing Lord knows how much in time and $$$.

Not sure what the OP paid for the car but at this point condition will play an equal role in the actual value of the car as much as mileage will. Tough call.

1fastcobra bought the car for $4000 and sold to OP $11,000.

OP have sent him emails a few times, called him but he put a block on OP's phone number, so his daughter called and was able to leave msg on his phone. Almost 24 hrs, still no call or email from the seller. Going to give him till tomorrow before OP contact the Wis DMV. He shows no shame, no remorse, no nothing!!!! What a scumbag he is!!

It shows 2 but there isn't any info prior to December 7 1994 and the car had 10,223 miles. December 19th 1994 it's recorded as miles exceed mechanical limits with no owner change? Weird but there could have been a clerical error at the DMV or the car had 110,223 miles at that time?

These carfax reports on cars of this age can be a crap shoot.

FORGET ABOUT WARNING HIM! IF YOU THINK HE WILL GIVE YOU BACK THE MONEY, YOU ARE SORELY MISTAKEN. JUST REPORT THE DAM FRAUD TO THE DMV AND BE DONE WITH IT.

Thanks so much...I've printed out every correspondences from him and also the title. I'm surprised but then no, I' not surprised, that he has not responded at all!!! That's to show he's really a scum bag. He should be removed from this site permanently!!!!!

Seller put block on OP's, his daughter's and his son's phone numbers!!!! He knows what's going on and yet he doesn't have the balls to be a man and talk to the OP!! Again, he needs to be removed from this site permanently !!!!!!!

Been on the phone all morning and am very disappointed. Attorney General cannot help us because it regards one individual buying a car from another individual, they can only help if it was bought from a dealership. This is a lesson for all of you in the future, keep that in mind. They said only thing we can do is to go to small claim court or hire an attorney.

There's one other thing you can do is when he post something forsale in the forsale section you paste this link so everyone can see how nice of a guy he is so no one will buy from him anymore
