I am helping a friend ,he has a complete motor up to starter he bought at a garage sale. Harrisburg pa area (please e-mail him)
(soniaorengo5442@yahoo.com) appears to be stock with a big oil pan has been sitting for a few years $2600 obo all wiring attached

You may want to tell your friend to look around and price other motors that are forsale or have been forsale recently. IMHO $2600 for a garage sale motor isn't going to happen......at least not on here.

Stock motors on here go for $800 up to maybe $1500 if it is relatively fresh.... and with a few goodies on it..... wiring harness' vary... but many can be found in the $100 - $150 range. Just trying to help your buddy out.....

HTH

^^Agreed, I bought an entire front end of a gn including the dash and all wiring for only $2000.

A garage sale motor! Will it turn over? Obviously there will be no history on the motor. Probably worth scrap iron price. Talking about a "pig-in-a-polk"!
Hot Air

The price is way over market value since I just got a complete 87 motor untouched for $750

Altho, I'll sell you a Fresh 87 built shortblock with all the goodies (new rods, centre caps, cryro 10 over crank, 10 over JE pistons, king bearings, balancer, flywheel, front cover etc.) for $3200. :)

its probably

a stage II motor from early nascar days.
and you say it isn't worth $2000,
dream on !!!!!!!!!!

complete motor , top to bottom....
I feel its worth a look,
but to say (with out seeing it) it isn't worth that much,
your ignorance is showing!

hahahaha... Ya never know :p

I sold my complete running stock motor with harness and ecm for 3000.People kept comming offering what they thought it was worth and that they can get it for whatever less.If you can get it cheap then go ahead. No reason to get on the guys case.Me i wouldnt spend 2600 on an engine and not know anything about it or hear it run.I found an 83 riv convert in the junkyard.I popped the hood and it had a 87 GN motor in it.The guy gave it to me for free. When I got home and took the engine out,it was a 4.1 all hooked up.I think before you start bashing the guy, take a look at it first.Anyway thats just my input.

I figured someone would jump on here and say something like that, and make the rest of us wait (im)patiently for proof.

We shall see... You guys will find out tomorrow when they return hopefully... I will be on the road... :frown:

Thanks for looking at site, more info found out this weekend.the heads must have been off it has arp bolts.thanks

Alright guys, here is some more info and pics the seller sent me. Supposedly has a modified pan, but can't see it from the pics. Supposedly has ARP bolts or studs, but also hard to see from the pics. (Not saying either isn't true) The motor has been sitting for a while (~8 yrs) but looks to be pretty complete. I suggested he pulled the valve cover off to see if it had anything else good done to it other than ARPs, so we will see. If he sends pics, I will put them up here for everyone. I am in no way part of this, and not interested in it since it is on the other side of the world. Just trying to clear up the mud for everyone.

EDIT: From the pics, I now see the kickout on the pan, plus the adjustable fuel pressure reg, plus the ATR 7th injector on top of the vacuum block area. Comes with all the accessories it looks like, headers, pretty complete top to bottom. Again, will post any follow on pics for everyone.

EDIT 2: Also looks like a stainless aftermarket crossover, and the little K&N breather.
