I'm replacing my current 7.5 rear/stock control arm set up with a 8.5/UMI uppers and lowers. I've never done this before, and am looking for any tips anyone would like to share. I've already discovered the control arm bolt holes will need to be drilled out to 1/2". What's the preferred method to drop the rear? What about going back in?

it's not hard at all- the toughtest part will probably be getting the upper arm bolts out.

What steps do I follow? Rear control arm bolts upper and lower first? Lower spring mount next? What?

OK then, it's not hard at all says one response. I'd still like a play by play if anyone wants to share.

why is everyone so afraid to just jump in and do things these days?
jack up the car.
take off the wheels.
put the floor jack under the pumpkin.
unbolt the shocks, brake line, e brake cables, driveshaft, and control arms.
take the old unit out.

installation is the opposite of removal.
