I'm putting a Brian Hofer 200-4R in the GN. This will have slightly higher than stock shift points, roughly 1-2 5500, 2-3 5300rpm's. He suggested a West Coast Converters 10" converter, lockup, with 2800 stall. I have no problems with WCC's stuff, they have a good reputation on the left coast. What stall would you guys recommend? I drive the car 95% street and 5% strip, so I'm looking for very good street manners. Let me know, cuz I'm ordering a converter soon...thanks.

With that cam an Edge 3000-3200 10" LU converter. Went 11.49@117 with a TA-49 on my first run before I was thrown off the track  This converter has very good street manners.

I would go with 3000, will work now and for future upgrades. I just got mine from West Coast, good guys to deal with.

Edge is run Andre, Bill @ WCC`s brother. Same building I believe.
I know Bill has a good bit of first hand info on quite a few Texas GN`s.

mines a 3000 edge with a te 44 and a 202-202 flat tappet cam.
im using the same converter with ball bearing turbo this time with a 212/212 hyd roller.

also my brother had an Edge 3000 also on a stock cam, heads intercooler etc but with a te-60 street manners was almost the same as before but he sad it was a little more kick than before with the stock convertor, i noticed just a hint of lag not much with the 60. All cars PERFECT street drivers in my opinion. If you get an Edge Andre will ask all of your cars equipment to get the right stall for you, i think mine was like $525 or $540 shipped to my door. The mild edge handles 450 hp the street edge is 600 or 650hp, i have to go back and look but the high end is like 1000hp i think, i havent been back on the site in a while to look. Oh yeah their converter is a 9.5" not 10"... as if a 1/2" matters to some

Thanks again. I went with a 3000 10" lockup from WCC. Brian I hope you don't mind, but I gave the guy your number so he can call and thank you for the business you send his way. Maybe you can get a reach around from him.

I forgot that after talking to Dusty he mentioned he has a 10in lock up in the 2800 range.
Might be a good option with him.

Brian

Yes I do have 10" converters in either 2800 or 3200 and lock-up or non lock;)

Talk to you soon.
