how much for kit.you can buy a tig welder(110v) for 1300.00 a miller maxstar 150 or a econotig (220v)for 1425.00 what are you going to be welding with it.

You have quite an expensive MIG there but also quite healthy. The downside to buying the DC TIG add-on is you won't get AC for use on aluminum. It would be best to have a separate machine rather than paying to limit yourself.

MOstly just playing around learning how to do it.

I will want to aluminum weld so I guess a dedicated welder would be better then.

I have a like brand new Lincoln Square Wave Tig 175 I'd like to sell. PM if interested. Maybe trade for the mig?

With a little practice, here's what the lincoln 175 (listed above) can do. I converted mine to water cooled, but it does work good. I NEED a 300 amp TIG, but it'll have to wait for awhile. (3800+ bucks) The 175 will WEEZE on you with THICK aluminum, but you can pre-heat if needed. Good welder to learn with. It's pretty easy to use and doesn't have a million settings on it to figure out.

Thanks for the offer but I need to keep my MIG. I am just tossing the idea around about getting a TIG.
