Cracked snoot on a 9x11

Last fall i yanked the converter out of the 86 to get it restalled but since then i found that i missed the w/g hole w/ the puck a fair amout. I was gonna reinstall the converter and see if that cured my spool broblem or if i really do more stall. Anyway, as i was cleaning up the snoot on the converter, i found a crack going down from a pump tang and around the snoot about a 1/3 of the way. This converter is relatively new only a handfull of runs on it. Has anyone seen this before ?

a heat treated or hardened hub shouldnt crack.did it get dropped?where did you purchase it?

I wouldnt have thought it should or would crack, no it didnt get droped, and I got it thru Bruce about 2 yrs ago along w/ ALL the billet pieces and parts he had at the time. The trans was assembled by me and a trans buddy of mine. Installed by me.
I have heard of them cracking in a Hi HP motor, but im talking the 1500 hp stuff.My 700 or whatever is squat to that.

bring it to a local converter builder and have them install a new hardened hub.be sure to check the pump..

Odd, but it happens

Nothing to do with Power level. 50 hp or 1200 hp, still can happen.
Ask a trans guy, they will blame it on the converter. Ask a converter guy they will blame it on the pump. GM will tell you harmonics cause this.
NONE of which I believe.

Just a note.... If you do elect to take it to a local builder, and you have an issue with it later, I do not want to hear or see any bad mouthing afterward. I am offering to assist you and it is not like this problem hasn't occured ever before with ANY other converter make or brand.

I did talk to Rusty a while back and he said to send it in which I just never got around to.
