crank and rod questions

The switch pitch converter is great. I did a switch pitch conversion on a Turbo 400 for a customer with a GS 455 back in the late 70's. It worked very well. 4.1's are rare here too, but I have bought bare blocks, since I don't use any of the rotating assembly, and have them shipped UPS ground. The Vortec will be really unique if you can make it all work, and you will get to your goal as long as the bottom end is built strong. Forged pistons, a good set of rods, and maybe the odd fire crank will be strong enough to hold up. Keep it out of detonation and it should work.
