Was setting my crank sensor and wondered if the recommended clearance has to be uniform at all points on the interrupter ring? I was using the "box top" feeler gauge method and the clearance was much tighter at one spot than others. But there was no contact and I could still insert my "feeler gauge". Does the sensor require a constant clearance at all times or just "no contact"?

Thx in advance...

Mine is the same way. It's just that the interrupter ring is not perfectly round. I just adjusted mine so that none of the ring hit the sensor (I destroyed one sensor when I adjusted for one part of the interrupter and didn't realize another part would hit the sensor). It's worked great. Basically the sensor only needs the metal to go between the two magnets and interrupt the magnetic field between them.

P.S. make sure to check a full 360* rotation to make sure none of the interrupter hits.... I have tabs of the interrupter that aren't even perfectly round.

Thanks for the reply, that's a relief! I did check over a full rotation -- twice -- and there's no interference, so I guess I'm good. Thanks again!
