Well, after 12 years of riding snowmobiles I had my first mishap.
While crossing over a driveway along a stretch of major highway in northern Wisconsin, my left ski found a drain tube running under the drive. The tube was covered with snow so I didn't see it. This proceded to bring my sled to an immediate halt throwing me over the hood and landing 15 feet from the sled. Fortunately I wasn't going too fast and only sustained minor injuries to my thighs as they slammed into the handlebars on my way over the top.
Luckily I was standing on the running boards when it happened, if I had been sitting I would have drilled my ribs into the bars.
The sled is pretty messed up, broke the left ski in half, bent every control arm and radius rod on the left front, and bent the front shock.
This is going to cost me...

Happy your ok, as some folks are not as fortunate. Yup, that is going to be an expensive repair, well there goes your race gas money ;)

Riding

Heck, we haven't started riding yet!
Weather has been very poor even to the canadian boarder
Hope the weather get bad :D

Thankfully you are OK, that's the main thing. Had a friend who got hit by a car when he was on his sled parked by the side of the road. Killed instantly and his wife saw the whole thing happen.

Thanks for he kind words.
I hear many horror stories about snowmobiling, it's a dangerous sport for sure, even when you're not going fast or doing something stupid.

Mike,

Sorry to hear about that... At least you're okay.

Are you still building a motor this year?

Pete

Hey Pete,
No, I had to put the Buick on the financial back burner for now.
I'm taking a month or two off of work as a sanity break, so I can't
throw money at the car.
How are things going for you?

I wish I could take off a month or two :)

I'm working on re-painting my GN, but it's a long slow project when you can only work on it a couple days a month. The goal is to have it done by the summer... Then hopefully I will build a motor next winter.
