thanks guys

Copied from the other thread ...

Look very closely at the ECM mode ... is it in NORM? (On v3.x it's on the left side of the Dashboard as a colored LED and it is towards the bottom of the screen on the Details screen ... on v2.13 it's shown in the bottom right hand quadrant of the screen on the Numeric screen)

If it is in ALDL mode, then the fix is outlined on the TurboLink Support Forum ... basically what happens is that some of these USB adapters/serial ports/parallel ports on certain laptops won't let you control the signal line that tells TurboLink to switch ECM modes. The fix involves a quick "snip" of the control line in the cable until we can come up with a work around.

The topic you want is "Erroneous Boost/Volts/MAT Data" in the Troubleshooting section at the top of the board.

The board is at:

Take a look, and as always, if you have any questions, feel free to drop us some email at tlcustomersupport@acceleratetech.com.

I have been running it in nomal mode i was told not to run the aldl mode . My car is running real bad and i dont know if its the t link giving me the right info or not, ive been trying to fix the voltage problem for a week and cant find any thing , maybe its the t link giving crazy reads.

The reason I ask ... we need to see what the ECM is REPORTING ... that's what is displayed there. (Which version are you using, BTW?)

Look to see what it says, because regardless what the software thinks it is telling the car to do, the car could be doing something different in response. When that happens (i.e. you command NORMAL mode, but it goes into ALDL mode) the data coming back is DIFFERENT and will be misinterpreted by the software.

So, for example, your spark advance may be returned in the voltage parameter.

ok i gotta eat real fast then i'll hook it up and be sure .

be right back.

Hope you are full by now!It has been 5 days.Put that fork down and check T-Link! J/K:D

Yes scan tools can definitely show false info. First off your computer can't retard your engine 30* and if you were knocking that bad you'd hear it.

I know because I saw T-link do the same thing. Turned out I had a headlight that had water in it. Whenever I launched the car it would fart on T-link. Hehehe, just thought I'd relate that grounding problem that took me a couple weeks to find. :D
