That's strange, im having the same problem with my trans, and Fred did mine also. I was waiting for parts from him, but never got them that's been 6 months ago. I have to lift off of it to shift from 2-3, and i know the TV cable is sticking. Good luck, i may have to try something diffrent, let me know how the new vendor works out.

Ran a 7.12 in the 1/8th @ 96mph at 21 psi boost. the Lonnie Diers trans is working excellent so far, give me a few more miles & check back with me;)

my brother Got a Ckperformance trans the other day & gonna install it anytime now, i think he's gonna be WELL pleased i'll post back later on it.

His was flaring on the 1/2 again, so he got in touch with Chris. Fred did his tranny also. He did very good work on my engine build & trouble shooting these cars is beyond par, even his body work & chasis work looks great from what i've seen , his stock trannys may be ok i dont know, but his performance trannys; hmmmm i'll let you decide. Since all 3 of us were in the same boat.

Whats the cost of those trans?

The second land that is ground away on the top PR valve was a trick used years ago (early/mid 80s) to lessen valve buzz and also allows full time lube. Any full time lube trick should be followed up with testing to make sure the T/C is not being over-pressurized. If that were the case, crankshaft thrust wear could result. Nowadays, the extent of the second land being ground is two very small flats, 180 degrees across from each other. This still allows full time lube, but not excessive flow volume that could possibly over-pressurize the T/C. There's no need to grind the land all the way down, especially with 10 and 13 vane rotors.

It appears the top PR spring is a thicker wire, shorter, and with less coils. That is what I would expect from a higher pressure PR spring. It would need to be weighed to be sure. Both boost valves appear to be larger diameter. That would be expected for higher boost pressures.

Except for the land being ground completely down, the top lineup looks fine.

A 2-3 flare shift is a common problem after rebuild when certain cross leaks are not taken care of during the rebuild procedure.

Unfortunately, most builders are not aware of these certain crossleaks.

The performance level of your cars are not such that dual feeding is absolutely necessary. Of course, if you're trying to make up for uncorrected crossleaking, then dual feeding might mask the problem.

cross leaks in the valvebody/valves or gaskets?
or the center support or rollerized drive area?
