What size drag radials fit best on stock 87 rims? Not planing on using them all the time. Any advice on brands? Thanks

Try using mickey thompson drags 275/60/15 its a 28"tall tires if you used a spacers can used 295/50/15 hope it help...

A 275/60/15 will fit without rubbing? The MT drag radial is probably the best hooking tire.

Tks. Because I had some crappy 60 ft with my old 235/15's bfg's. Bought a set of MT drags from a member here a couple of days ago. They should be here wed or thurs. My best 60 ft is 2.138. Hope I can cut some 1.8 60 ft. Car is basically stock except for the normal bolt ons and alky.

IMO, anything over a 255/60 looks stupid with the stock rims & backspacing.

I had dinky 235/60 MT E/T Streets and ran the time listed in my sig, cutting a 1.6 60'

When u said downpipe & single-shot. Do you mean single-shot of NOS.

What kinda boost were you running to get 11.94 @ 109

Downpipe.... downpipe off the turbo.

Single-shot... single 3" exhaust pipe

23PSI is what I run for boost. I also added 3* timing to 1-2 gear & took out 15% fuel in 1st gear over the chips base settings.

How did u change timing and fuel. Through a power logger and lab top.

He didn't really say single shot...That is his signature. Single shot is the exhaust. Also that 1.6 with 235's is pretty dang impressive and probably not too easily replicated.

I changed it through my Scanmaster & used my TurboTweak manual for the parameter numbers.

Yep. I'm impressed by the 11.9 @ 109. I ran a best off 12.8 @ 109. I wish a could get that time slip on my car. Have some MT's on tha way. Maybe they will help me get closer to that number. :)

You're correct in that 60' not being easily done on a small tire. Byron is knowm for EXCELLENT track prep, however I tried besting myself a year ago about this time of year (nice cool air, 60*) and I couldn't hook. I tried three runs, and spun outa the hole every time. 1.9-2.0 60' & 12.40's I called it quits, put the car on the trailer, drank beer, and watched everyone else the rest of the day.:(

I will say though I was always consistant in 1.7-1.75 60' & 12.1-12.20's in 80* weather at Byron. The 1.6 & cracking into the 11's came as a pleasant surpripse for sure.

10-12 PSI launch & dead-hook... your car has high 11's-12 flat in it for sure.

Thats whats up. I'm hoping I can get a good slip. Have a race next friday against my friends 2012 mustang. He's running 12.3 @ 113. But I need more mph out of my Te-44. How can I get more mph out of her.

MPH is an indication horsepower. That's why his MPH is so much higher, with a "relatively" slow ET. He's not coming outa the hole very hard, but has the HP to pull on the top-end.

It doesn't matter at this point for you whether you trap 108 and he's trapping 113. Whoever has the faster ET is the faster car. The only acception there is, let's say you take him outa the hole so bad he can't catch you on the top end, he could in fact run a faster ET than you, but couldn't run you down, and you beat him to the line with the slower ET.

Here's your biggest problem... he's gonna mash the gas when that light turns green. So, unless you're 110% perfect with proper boost built, brakes holding, and you don't spin, he's gonna probably beat you. It's takes alot of practice to get good at having the boost built up prior to the tree counting down. Anything less than 10 PSI launch, and you're not gonna see your low 12- high 11 you're looking for. You don't have the top end power to make up for a soft launch.

My advise to you is to base your race with him solely based off the ET. Let him leave on you. You sit there and take your time, build boost up to 10-12 PSI, and leave when your damn well ready to leave. The ET will show who's truely faster.

OH, and cranking the boost up to 25 PSI won't do squat for you either. It's all in the launch. 22-23 PSI is more than enough.
