According to my documentation, the torque spec is 20 ftlbs.
At this value with high temp silicone and calibrated wrench, the brand new gasket rips. :mad:
"Good n' tight" leaks ;), surfaces are pretty straight and clean.

What number do you use?

What type of gasket are you using?

Are you using stock bolts?...if not I would try to use a washer to add some surface area.

I have always just snugged them with some silicone...no issues.

Used the RJC gasket, with a washer.
Luckily, I typically order 2 gaskets.

Here are the results :tongue:;
The first time, the assembly was with the "high temp silicone" (Orange stuff)
Second gasket/try, I used "The Right Stuff" and it seems to work, at the "good N' tight" spec.

Did a few small independent non-scientific tests between the two silicones, and application techniques, and noticed some interesting differences. :eek:
