I am picking up an 01 Ducati 748 and wondered if anyone on these boards owns one too? The cored exhaust on the V-Twin is amazing!!! I'll get some pics later of this sexy b!tch!

I'd love to get a Ducati some day, as well as a Triumph Speed Triple, as well as....

See where I'm going with this? :D . I could probably list ten bikes I'd love to have, but until then I have to settle for one. I have an '03 Suzuki SV1000, which is kind of a "Poor man's Monster". I love the thing, it has tons of power (110hp) and great torque. It's as fast as I'd ever want. I picked up some D&D cans from a guy on TL Planet a few years ago for $100 and they sound amazing. If I start the bike in the garage, the soffit vibrates, lol. It sounds as evil as Satan's chariot :D

Here's an old pic, but it's still the same other than having a small flyscreen and new back tire.

The Ducati 848's make me drool and I'd love a Monster as well, just because I dig the frame :D

I don't own a bike anymore.I'm too deep into Buicks. But my cousin bought a 1098 last year. That is one sweet bike.

ducati

i had a new 2000 748 bi posto in yellow...i remember picking it up from the dealer and riding it home thinking i just bought a piece of farm eqipment..the v twin was so different from the inline 4's i was used to.but besides the killer wrist pain and the rock hard seat.... i loved it...looking at it was as good as riding it..i never really rode it hard but i would say BUY IT...they are a great product...just make sure to maintain it right....the sound alone makes it worth it

True. The Monster is a sweet bike. My brother has a Triumph Daytona 955i that he just purchased and it rides nice. Sexy too! Those 848's are just too much right now. Your bike is a nice ride too.

Heck ya! I love the sound of the dry clutch too. Not many do, but I see it to be old school. These V twins sound incredible!

For those who dont know....Here is what it looks like!

I had an 02' 748S Mono in yellow. Had the Marchesini magneisum five spoke off a 998r. New Corsa processor, Ti cans, reverse pattern shifter, vented corsa clutch cover over a corsa slipper clutch. With the stock clutch I kept breaking the rollers on the chain on the downshift coming into corners. The slipper is AWSOME if you push the bike hard. I LOVE the dry clutch sound!!! Man I miss that bike. Jon Hanson
I think I still have some stock calipers in the garage at home.

Dry clutch gives this bike so much character along with the V- Twin rumble.... I rode it only a few times so far and absolutly love it!

Sounds like you had a pretty sweet bike.
