ah hell, I dont care about the thread, I sure would like to take a look at your car RED, I got an intercooler off eBay but I think its not big enough to worry about hooking up to the car
Its 21.5x10x3

I started a thread for us Virginians to get to bs'ing in .. its in southeast section

heres a link for those who dont feel like looking for it

over here

RED
Thanks for the info on the Ford PS IC. I cant bring myself to do that much chopping on my car. Prob cause I have had it less than 90 days so its still new to me......:-)
I am gonna see what I can find out about using the Dodge Cummins IC, if no cutting is required.
Can you shoot me a price on a set of the vlave springs please
I have some new 50# High Imp injectors I may be parting with soon

ws6formula50,

If I read you right, you said you disconnected your TV cable on your dyno pull? You do not want to do that. It controls the line pressure in the valve body for shifts. If it is disconnected it won't increase pressure for WOT and the clutches and the second gear band will slip. It will cook them very fast. I know this because one time I got my car back after a trans rebuild and drove 8 miles home with the TV cable disconnected because no one hooked it up. Just that 8 miles ruined the clutches and had to be rebuilt again. It needs to be adjusted properly to have firm but not real hard shifts or you will be inviting transmission problems. Just trying to save you some $$$$.

Oh man, thanks for the info, If that makes the clutches slip, I jave MORE POWER in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand the dyno curves. Since HP is a torque times RPM, with a scaling factor, the peak HP just has to be at a higher rpm than the peak torque. In these curves, the peaks are at the same RPM. What am I missing? I would believe the torque curve, but then the HP curve would have to change. ??

ws6formula's TQ curve falls off, thats why HP would fall off too...i dont know the HP formula off hand, but if the scaling factor is larger on TQ than rpm then that would explain his graph.

as i think i stated before, my TQ curve was relatively flat from 4100 rpm to 5300 ish then fell off considerably to 5450 so HP dropped like a rock too...my peak hp was at 4900 i believe

and i also support the idea of NOT disconnecting the tv cable! no you wont get the low rpm numbers which tend to show the even higher TQ value but even without the low rpm range of values i can assume my car's peak TQ would be higher down low.

TV cable.

I don't understand why anyone would even consider disconnecting the TV cable for a dyno pull. Under normal driving the TV cable not being connected would burn up the trans in 10 miles or so,on a dyno pull@WOT much more damage would happen a LOT quicker due to the high load and low trans line pressure, say 60psi when it should be 160 or so. Kind of like reving the engine to 5000 RPM with 10 psi oil presure and hopeing it will live.
