I'm in a hotel room in detroit at woodward dream cruz. My TV cable is kinda broken, it will not adjust by the regular methods(pull all the way out, listen for ckick, set.) mine isn't doing that and I have no starting point. might there by a starting point like 5 notches showing.
It doesn,t want to kick down, shifts early & soft. I think i read it,s better that it shifts hard opposed to soft. I'm 200 miles from home and I need some direction

5 notches seems excessive and will possibly be way too firm. Try somewhere between 3 and 4 but that is JUST A GUESS. I just did mine (stock cable) and it set itself at 4 notches but was at 3 before.

Put 3 0r 4 Wire Ties In Front Of The Black Cable End That Hooks To The Throttle Body /this Will Pul The Cable Out So It Will Shift Later.if Its Too Late Then Cut One Off.

Thanks guys!!!!
I did get it adjusted with all your help. It was just next to impossable to stop and do a trial in 90+ deg heat bumper to bumper 1mph (cruise????).
The fun didn't stop there. When my temps climbed past 220deg, I found a burnt up high speed fan relay_then the bad heater hose!! 15 gal water 20 stops I made it the 220 miles home.
I'm not even going to look at her for at least a week, just for pay-backs.
Chris-How much did the high temps hurt my trans? I was pulled off the highway before it ever hit 220+.

220 isn't bad if it wasn't prolonged like a 50 mile drive stop and go.

Get on the phone and call a Hooker and forget the cable.....:)

Glad you got home okay...but WDC is garbage. Too many people, too much comercial BS, too much traffic, too many cops. It was fun the first couple of years (96-98). Last year I went was 2000...that was the year I decided I wouldn't be back. I grew up in SE Mich 17 miles north of Toledo...I can drive to Ferndale in less time than it takes to "cruise" (crawl) from Ferndale to Pontiac and back.

I just had the same T.V. cable problem and no adjustment I made seemed to be correct. the car pushes 3k rpm's at 60 to 65 mph. this is with 3-4 or 5 notches showing( the car seemed to shift good and firm ). when I try 1-2 notches, it will then shift into the highest gear, ( shifts very soft ) and it will cruise at about 2k rpm's at 60 mph ( like it should ). while going 60, If I push the throttle, the trans won't engage until like 3k+ rpms! I am so frustrated with this T.V. situation, I'm not looking at her for a week either....

Sounds like more than one problem. What vb and governor combo are you running? Post pressures.
