high speed CO% was 5.36 s/b .94

2nd test with stock chip and FP 35 static was as low as it would go...!!
Low speed HC was 235 s/b 152
High Speed HC was 284 s/b 148

low speed CO% was 2.57 s/b .086
high speed CO% was 2.33 s/b .94

Anyone verify this and the effectiveness of this chip...???

GREENSTRIPE INJ./ emissions

If you could give us some numbers, such as TPS setting, MAF at idle it would be very helpful. Either of thse units reading high could create a rich mixture.

With greenstripe injectors (mentioned in your signature) am assuming the 30 #/hr Tomco units not the 009 or 42.5 lb/hr units. They both have a green band around them.

Add 2 gallons of denatured alcohol to your almost empty tank and crank the fuel pressure up as far as it will go. It will pass.

What is the CO2 and O2 content from the emissions analyzer? If CO2 is low (13% or less) and there is anything more that 0.3% O2, you may have a bad cat.

Early in the year (March/April time frame) I received my car (87-T). I went through the whole spring cleaning regime posted in the gnttype.org. I then ordered Thrasher 92 chip along with a Thrasher emissions chip. I passed the first time. I later found out my cat was gutted. So it is possible to pass without a cat. However, next time I'll make sure I have a good working cat for insurance.

I rebuilt my car / motor then took it for license + emissions.

It failed miserably. Problem ? Plug wire fell down on the exhaust, burnt and it began to miss / short sometime after I dropped it off....

FIX - new plug wires...(of course) then new cat....and it passed no problem. I keep the cat in my garage for next time...then i'll put it in for re-test.

Your emissions numbers shouldn't be that high unless something is really wrong. There is prob too much fuel being dumped in then not getting burned - and ending up out the tailpipe and into the sniffer. Fuel shows up as unburned Hydroclorons...and will fail the car.

Could it be the injectors ???????

hey matthew btw i am in garland so if you ever need another hotair guy to look @ something, let me know..

Thanks all you Guys
I wrecked the thing a couple of weeks ago and have been sick over it. Took out a light pole and ripped the bumper header panel clean off the car. Need everything in front except the fenders. They didn't get a scratch.....still haven't figured that one out. Emmisions test will be waiting for awhile....appreciate fellas.
