Doing a tear down of everything in the engine compartment. I took the canister out and all of the charcoal stuff fell out. Here are my questions.

1) Florida has no emissions testing, do I need to put this back in?

2) Will it make a CEL come on or effect the performance if I do not hook it back up?

Thanks

I have similar questions about the EGR valve. It's always something I've taken off of other vehicles in the past that have carburetors. Will this affect the computer at all?

you dont need the canister or the EGR valve. i havent been running one for like the last 10 years. as far as setting a code yes unless you get a TT chip and tell him you dont have it hooked up.

brent

having it hooked up won't hurt anything, so why not leave it functional?
most people don't know this, but you can buy new vapor canister filters at any auto parts store. they are actually supposed to be replaced every 12,000 miles or something like that..
