At one time hobby scale R/C's were my drug. At one point I had my race truck, a Losi XXX-T (easy $800 sunk into it & all the support gear)
2. T-maxx (nitro monster truck)
3. E-Maxx (electric monster truck)
4. Traxxas Nitro Ruster
5. Associated electric TC3
6. Associated nitro TC3
7. OFNA 1/8 nitro buggy
8.Losi Mini-T
9. Traxxas Nitro speedboat
10. Associated RC10GT nitro stadium truck
Yea, I had stupid money tied up in the dumb things. And when you go to sell them, you're lucky to get 1/4-1/3 of what you have in it.
I raced the XXX-T every Saturday afternoon at one track & again Saturday night at another track. Both indoor carpet stadium tracks. It was a blast and did very good at it. I tried racing the electric TC3 car a couple times, but just couldn't get the hang of it for some reason. I was a smooth driver with the truck and made few mistakes, but those damn 4wd cars are a whole different breed. You have to be dead-on perfect with a car, zero margin of error. It really is a fine skill those guys have that race touring cars. Alot of people think that because they have drove a $30 POS R/C from Wal-Mart, how hard can it be.
I sold everything off & stayed away for about 5 years, but just like any addict, I got hooked again. Not as bad this time, but I now have an Associated MGT 8.0, and a Losi Mini SCT. No desire to race anymore, but it's still fun to beat around the yard or chase the dog.
