Does this seem to be excessive? It is about .004" of freeplay moving side the same direction of the turbo shaft. Thanks!

Seems a little excessive but as long as it is not contacting the housings on either side you should be ok..

You should be just fine.

Multiply inches times 25.4 to get mm.

.004 is nothing for a non journal turbo. Ive seen more than that and wasnt alarmed and never had any issues.
