Need a solution to this problem. Everytime I try and work on the car, everyone in the house is complaining about the exhaust fumes. Now I'm trying to tune it because I recentally installed injectors and a chip, but no matter if I 'm at the end of the driveway the carbon monoxide detector is still going off. Does everybody have this problem or am I just the lucky one? The weather just started getting decent around here so I can work outside too. At this rate I'm never gonna see the track this year. I need to vent literally.

pull the battery out of the carbon monoxide detector and dont tell anyone.

If you fire the wifes car up does the detector go off also or is your car running that bad?

Not trying to bag your car, but just wondering whats up with the car and if its really running that bad :)

Is you garage attached to house? if so are you working with the garage door open & car at the end of driveway? if not you must have one leakey house that the fumes creep into.

I would shut the garage door or really seal the inner door that leads into garage.

I would haul the battery out of the detector when working on the car.
or
Go down the block & tune in front of someone elses house :p

I have a fire detector in my garage that will go off if I idle the GN to long in the garage.
Then I get the lingering smell of exhuast.
I have used a floor fan to push out the heat & smell in the summer.

If your garage has windows. An idea maybe installing a window fan in reverse to suck out the fumes.

I have tried both these methods & they seem to help

pic a day when the wind is blowing in a diferent direction. The pressure from the wind charges the house

yes the garage is attached, the car is running rich cause i just went up to 36s and a JC 93 chip. still got to play with Translator etc. But even 20 feet from the garage it is still a strong fume ,I keep forgetting there is no cat. converter just a test pipe. That doesnt help. but damn . I might pick up a big fan at the swapmeet next month. i always see them there cheaply priced . The wife is pregnant , so theres a good reason not to remove the battery from the detector. Shes got a 2005 pt cruiser ,and that better not set the detector off or its going back to the dealer real quick:D
thanks for entertainment

I don't know what your fueling problem is but I went to the 36s and a TurboTweak chip and am not running rich. How about getting some of that exhaust hose that service stations use that goes over the exhaust tips then outside? Make sure your seal on the door into the house is airtight too.
