Failed CA TEST ONLY, need some advice

I was running the Thrasher "smog" chip, Fuel Pressure was at 43 psi/ line off. Translator idle/WOT is a zero settings. Cat is original, but only has about 6K miles on it.

BLM's were in the 105 to 118 so I know I'm rich ;)

What would be a good FP setting ? Thinking 37-39 psi

I know the smog chips shuts off the fans to drive the temps up as it did, 190's, but does it premeturley lock the convertor ?

The convertor stayed locked on one of the 25mph tests and it stayed locked during deacceleration once on the way over there, locked normally on the way home. I just replaced TCC solenoid this month and haven't had one problem, since today when I intalled the smog chip.:confused:

You didn't post how old the O2 sensor was-- is it still good? I would crank the fuel down 2-3 lbs as well. I smogged my car (Test Only, as usual) last Friday and it passed with a TE45a, 72#ers, fresh plugs, and a fresh cat.

'87 GN with a bunch of stuff I've bled on
 
O2 is about 6 mo. old, cross counts look good on it. Its a Denso sensor and has about 20 gallons of race fuel through it. Guess it wouldn't hurt to change it out with a fresh one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Lowered the FP to 38 psi line off, changed plugs and 02.
