After much thought, I've decided to hang up my guns.I am submitting my resignation as a moderator of the TB/T6P boards.
As many of you know, I've followed Buicks since their inception back in the 80's. I made the transition from the two previous sites and joined this site early on. I've been a moderator since Shane Grimsley so kindly invited me several years ago. I can't even imagine the number of hours I've spent on the boards.
In that time, I've seen a lot of good posters come and go and have made many friends (and probably a few enemies).I've seen the level of discussion and the level of civility on the boards wax and wane.
My posting has decreased substantially, but each time I considered leaving altogether, I talked myself out of it with the hope that things would eventually change. They haven't. It's come to the point where it's just not as much fun as it once was and I no longer feel like I am in touch with the pulse of the board community. It's time I moved on.
At their best, these boards provide a terrific opportunity to create community. They can be the modern day equivalent of a small town coffee shop where you can get together with your buddies and B.S. about something you all share...a love of Buicks. The vast majority of you understand that. To all of you that do, please keep it up. Treat each other with kindness, tolerance, and respect.
I want to thank you all for your support through the years. I particularly want to thank Shane for his support and friendship. He has a tough job and has always done it well, with grace and a good heart.I also want to thank my brother and sister mods.Their job is thankless and yet they keep doing it on a voluntary basis with good cheer.I leave with a lot of good memories.
I'll stick around as a lurker and an occasional poster, but my days in any "official" capacity are done.
Go Fast With Class!
