Fastest Pump Gas / Alky Car...?

You need to start your OWN LIST....;););)

This is for street cars that don't like to throw there money away.

Sounds like you guys had a good time at BG.

Still on my "Bucket List" to go to BG and run in the TAI event.

Been fighting "gremlins" for 18 months to get below 10.30. Heads going back to Champion for refresh and modifying block so can use Cometics HG's.

I'll join in the fracas pretty soon. Just have to make sure all the bugs are worked out before pushing the car REAL hard.

What I understand is the block had a groove cut in the top of the cylinder and then wire was hammered into the groove and is actually a little higher than the deck. I guess that was the "in thing" at one time but I've only blown a couple of head gaskets in 12 years so it can't be all bad. If I remember right, there was a guy that had an article in GMHTP about 10-11 years ago and he did this to the engines he built which was described as the ultimate build for a Buick turbo motor or something similar to that. I understand he stopped building these engines after experiencing a high failure rate.

Deck will be flat when the reworked heads come back from Champion and hopefully it runs to its capability.

Thanks. Just have to see what the car can do when it is healthy.

Looking at my combo versus the rest of the combos on this list, I feel like Jack in the Land of Giants.

Another option is to install a softer wire like copper and file it flat.

The block on my Mustang is o-ringed as well and I run graphites with no issues.. yet.

Thanks for the reply.

The plan is to file down the existing wire if it is still in good condition. If not, then the wire will be replaced and then filed flat.

Congratulations on the success with the 6466. You're the first guy I've seen that has gotten the combo put together that let's the turbo live up to the hype that it received when it came out.

I also have iron heads.
