well after six yrs of constant beating above 20psi something let go in my GN today, racing an STI on the freeway right about 110mph and 5 cars out front blue smoke started pouring out of my downpipe, so i drove off the freeway and oil was all over my engine bay, no visible signs of hoses coming off or any leaks that i can see from the headgasket but my dipstick was half way out and there was smoke and oil pouring out of the breather from the passenger side, got it home took the oil out and no visible metal shavings in the oil, but there is a slight ticking sound from the engine not a bad sound but not a knocking sound ethier, i think i may have blown a headgasket into the oil valley thus pressurising the crank, I hope thats all it is..

PS: my 02's dipped down into 735 and saw 35.7 degress of knock  that may have done the job.

time to rebuilt. :)

It's not Karma is called the inevitable, at one point or another we all have to do this, it just took me 6 yrs to get here so i am not dissapointed that it took me this long I figure it should have gone out a long long time ago it was just a matter of time before it did, at least i put an azzwhooping on that STI.

wait a minute.......

I heard you chevota sh!t for breaking his car, what excuse you gonna use for this?
I guess were all just human, we all can break stuff,
hmmmmmmm this means chevota has PAYBACK time!

Didn't I tell you this years ago?

Sorry to hear that, Kevin. Hopefully, it is just the head gasket as you say. Sounds like it is rebuild time for sure.

Dont think of it as bad luck. Think of it as a good time to port your heads ;) .

Kevin
Sorry to hear you popped one.I just popped a Cometic and they say that can't be done.I wish I had a dollar for every head gaskent I have blown over the years.Eight bolt heads suck. If it makes feel any better you want be the only one pulling heads.

thanks Reg I hope that a headgasket is all that went, if not more work will have to be done, but spoolfool is right, time for ported heads and a Cam :).

Yep! six years of 11's capable & safe tuning will do it every time.

well well well

after I sat here for 10 minutes thinking of what to post, it came down to this. After reading so many posts about your car being so dependable, and having never blown a head gasket, here we are. When I blew mine at the dyno store, you said something like" well I guess thats why your pos did not make it back, haha" well, looks like your pos is broken down now. I did not want to be an ass and post like this, but after all the down talk etc. I could not help my self. You'd better make an oppointment with Lou to take care of that problem, I would hate to see oil under those pretty manicured finger nails. Besides, you are a tuner, not a builder right? Good luck, you knew better than to race that sti, it sure kicked your ass did'nt it :D

funny or not. Either way, it'll give you a good excuse to build the Sh$t out of the motor. That's the way I'd look at it! Maybe Chevota can help with the build. Whether you guys are arch enemies or not, I've seen what his truck can do and it's obvious to me that the guy can build an engine. Maybe you guys can come together in a spirit of TR togetherness. ;) -or not

-Good Luck

I vote for or not  and have a grudge match showdown  besides they have too much history together, cant stop now....

Only if the acroynm TR above stands for total reluctance. Those guys are not archenemies, they just like to keep the excitement going.

actually no he didnt kick my ass i kicked his hehehe, anyway, my guess is my car lasted way longer together than yours did so whats your point  , and yes i get my hands dirty but wont show pictures of my fingernails but here is a picture of what i found out today after taking it apart if your interested to see, the circumstances in which under i blew the head gasket where stupid since i didnt tune the car after making a few changes and i should have. :)

you better watch it because after if put back together i may just have to call you out and your boyfriend Mike for a little racing :), but of course that is if your car is running  .
