Just got done with the MAFT Pro install on my new car. Simply removing the stock air box and sensor and just leaving the hose open for a quick test drive gained me 4 pounds of boost. Reinstalled a 3.5" sensor with a cone filter as a test and the boost went back .5 PSI. Reinstaled the stock MAF and a 3" cone and it went back 2 psi. So the stock unit is pretty restrictive and this is with a stock turbo and downpipe. With an open hose the turbo sounds pretty wicked and spools up like no other. Took me about 20 minutes and 4 WOT blasts to sort out the tuning now we are runnning 20 PSI on pump gas .810 no knock. I will get a VE table for the MAFT pro worked out that I will post so anyone who buys a T-PRO can download it and should be very close to running well right from the start. I will post the full weekend write up of car mods soon and hopefully get to the track this week to get some current numbers for the new ride before we get too much more done to it.

Fantastic Mike! Can't wait `till these are available. Will the Windows PC connection have USB or old-school serial?

What kind of power is the PC/Laptop going to need to run the software ???
 
This is starting to sound like something I need for the driver!

Bishir: check out www.maftpro.com ...gives some basic info on it...MAF-less, MAF Trans mode..looks very exciting!!!

Thanks for the info! So basically any car that uses a Maf can use this and change settings? Would this be similar to the diablo Predator tuners? Maybe I can learn this good and git a dyno dwn herrrr.... :D
 
Release is close, best I can do. Taking pre-orders at an introductory price of $399.99 (we will not charge card until day of shipment) Windows PC will run software.

Windows PC = good. USB type connection will = better! I hate those 24343 pin connectors. :cool:

So basically, what type of tunablility will we have with this and am I correct that this is just a button to change setups for diffferent injectors? :D Was my comparison to the predator tuner accurate?
 
are you guys going to make one of these compatible with the EEC V Fr0d type MAF system? I have a friend with a TURBO '02 Lightning that is interested.

The same unit will work on any car. It has all needed connections. He will just have to go the the maftpro.com website and download the proper VE table flash it in and he will be good to go. :D

Generally speaking you're correct. BUT.... There are a LOT of us out here that are running laptops that are running either win95 or win98 so as to make is it MUCHO easier to run DS, and because of that, most likely all will be serial port equiped and NOT USB equiped.
It's just too much of a hassle trying to get WinXP and DS to "play nice" together. Much cheaper and easier to buy used win95/98 machines to run DS.

So personally I'm glad the Tpro will be a serial port device.
If it comes out as a USB device you'll be forcing the vast majority of us to buy yet another laptop just to run it.
I for one wouldn't do that.
 
its serial, but you can use a usb to serial adapter for those laptops with no serial port.

I run it with Win 98 and XP Pro, so it's pretty OS friendly.

Assuming this is Maf-less,can you still tune without a laptop,just tuning in car via Scanmaster/knock gauge(old school) :p :p
 
Actually, Mike did his tuning without a laptop at all. Using only the Maft Pro keypad and the Scanmaster. A laptop is actually optional for most casual tuning.

How do we pre-order Im down for one of these. Also I could have mis-read but do you need a translator or trans-plus before purchasing this? I have a stock MAF, so in my understanding all I have to do is buy this trans pro and take off the MAF and then tune from there?
