First time out, hit by a corvette... :(

Had the car out for the first time today down at the place where the locals gather. Rain started coming in, so we decide to leave. Coming up to a stop sign, we slow down as there's another GN in front of us...guy in the corvette gooses the throttle then says "it stuck" and he hits the passenger side rear bumper. WHY would you hit the GAS coming to a STOP sign???
No major damage externally, but we'll see about internally. Figure I can at least get me a new set of rear bumper fillers...he did crack that.

Hi Mrs. FastNasty,

Not too good on his reaction time! The GN's taillights must be a common sight for him... he just got overly frustrated.
Do you have aluminum reinforcements in the rear bumper to contend with, as well?
Not the best way to end a car meet. Hope you're able to get the '86 fixed up like new again.

I'm glad that wasn't the reason...cause that would have meant we hit another GN! He had a nice long black mark down the drivers side fender. All in all it could have been much worse...at least he "tried" to veer off the road before hitting us. Still though...why hit the gas at a stop sign? Kyle does that sometimes...like he's showing off...oooohhhhh, you can hit the gas for two seconds...you're ccccooooolllllllll... I'm done with my rant...off to shop for bumper fillers!!! :biggrin:

A lady did that to me once i hit her going 5 mph was sueing me for like 50 grand she couldn't move or carry things the insurance comp. had her on film carrying boxes groeries and they nailed her when the lawyer asked her if she was having spazems so bad and her back and side were numb how she got pregnant 1 month after the accident they ended up setteling for 2k . Mrs. FastNasty glad you and the car are ok sounds like the Vette driver was a moron did you tell him factory bumper fillers aren't cheap :biggrin:

Don't feel too bad.My wife popped the RF corner of her T Tuesday. She hit a Jeep pulling out of 7-11. Took out the header panel,filler,and headlamp bezel.

That sucks but good thing it wasn't too bad. My first wreck was with a Vette. It was a funky looking "Corvette Summer" type custom...fugly. We were in bumper to bumper traffic in Indiana coming back from th GS Nats and he rear ended me. I could actually hear the glass cracking for a few seconds after the impact. He and his wife get out and she rips his ass about driving too close to me. I was pissed but then after the ass reaming he got I felt sorry for him. It didn't hurt the GN much but his car was screwed.

Glad you didnt get hit hard and no one was hurt. Could have been a different story if someone was on a bike and a few feet over to the right. It was nice meeting all of you.
