My cousin ordered a set of TMI seat covers for his 88 5.0, neither of us have ever re-upholstered a seat before. After re-foaming one of the lumbar supports on the driver's seat, we put on the new cover and it fit great. This was not as hard as I thought, I think it turned out great. Will likely re-do my driver's seat in the GN next. Maybe we got lucky but I always thought this was not a do-it yourself kind of job.
Nice I had an easy time with a bench seat I was doing in leather. The gn seat covers are tight. At least the new ones are. PUI has a great YouTube video on installing them. Cloth seat covers need steam or heat.
Thanks for the tip on using steam! I actually have a heavy duty hand held unit. We did the rear seat, this was a bit of a pain getting the cover to fit over the bottom portion but we got it on. We put it in for a quick test fit. We're adding a "new" black carpet and black seat belts which we got from a donor car. The set of seat covers was $399.00 on sale. I used to own this 5.0 but sold it to my cousin about 15 years ago. Was and still is a great car, he has done a lot to it and it moves well. It's forced induction, now an auto trans "Lentech AOD" with an electric trans brake, original paint which is still an 8/10.
