I've seen alot of problems with these (part availability) and few answers. Anyone ever consider getting a late model sunroof from a junkyard car and putting it in. If it's the same size or larger, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Especially if it is a dealer installed unit (the wiring might be a little easier). Any thoughts.

Hi,

Did you contact ASC.... http://www.ascglobal.com/. We have a local distributor here and I asked about putting new seals in. They said it probably cost about $250 to install.

I did pull 3 from the wreckers for parts. The first one came from a 4 door LeSabre which was too small. The next 2 came from G-bodies and they were the same size.

Getting them out was a b:mad: tch... so putting it back in would even be worse. The moonroof is held on by 4 brackets. I'm afraid to take it down because I don't know I could re-align it when I put it back in... My suggestion is to find one (any ASC) at the wreckers and see how much fun it is to take out so you can gauge the work yourself

good luck.... dave :D

ps: is your roof straight & flat?? mine has a indentation in the back passenger corner where the moonroof is!!
