Curious as to why you'd rule out HF? I've used their aluminum low-profile and steel truck ones for over 6 years with no issues.

I've got one of the aluminum ones too. But, the swivel joint at the base of the handle broke and now its starting to leak fluid...

Milwaukee, I have two and they are great. Great company to deal with too. The design is the same going way back so Jack is tough as nails and parts will be available. Jack is made to last with cast iron parts and hard chrome Dual pistons.

Hein makes a nice American Jack but company is foreign.

Weaver is top notch for big jacks.

After two dead aluminum jacks (HF & Craftsman) and a busted hood on my truck because of one, I ended up with a NAPA 2 ton steel jack. I was skeptical of the nylon wheels, bet they've been great and the range is awesome too, 3.5" - 21"...

Costco sells a Arcan XL35R 3.5 ton lo-pro for around 90-100 bucks I think.Very dependable little jack!

I've owned a Lincoln floor jack for over 10 years, no problems. Only upgrade was to purchase a one piece handle about 5 years ago. But for oil changes and general inspection, rhino ramps. Ramps are a lot less headaches, especially with newer cars that have plastic jack points or will collapse the under carriage if not properly cushioned, My dodge and corvettes are a good example. I insert a hockey puck into the saddle to lift my dodge.

I have seen a few complaints on here about the craftsman jack? I have had mine since 2005 and it has worked perfectly. It is the aluminum low profile Nascar style jack. Is this the same jack you other guys had issues with? I got it on clearance for $90 and love it.

A number of years ago I bought a nice low-profile, 1.5 ton Craftsman floor jack with a quick release, two-piece handle and side grips for easy portability. It also has the quick pump feature as well. Problem is, after just a couple of years of home use, it began leaking hydraulic fluid. Looking at consumer ratings on current Craftsman floor jacks, this seems to be a recurring theme still.

How-to for repairing the jack.

Thanks for the link. They stated that it's not applicable to the quick pump style like mine but I figure it'd be a similar scenario.
