Did your crossover pipe connections sit flush with the header flanges? How much "cockiness" is acceptable? See picture. Mine are off on each side by ~1/8". I'll call TA on Monday to discuss, but I'd like to know how these fit on other engines. I have a stock block with stock heads and stock oil pan. If I make the driver's side connection flush at the crossover/header flange, the passenger side connection is off by ~2". I can't make the passenger side connection flush at all because the oil pan is in the way.

I don't see a problem, put the clamp on and tighten it up....
The clamp well pull them together.

I agree the clamp will pull it together. I was just wondering if this is the way these headers have been fitting on stock block/head combinations.

Mine fit up flush and flat.

Won't they flatten out after adjusting the "slip fit joint" in the crossover?

between the clamp pulling and the high heat causing the metal to expand i think you will be fine... jmho

Probably best to discuss this with TA before trying to install the clamps. Something is probably wrong if they won't seat flush without being pulled or pushed together.

Mine came with gaskets and sit flush. The pics looks like a no worry.

Another situation you may run into...On the pass side the lines will hit just remove the clamp thats and lil back from them. bend the lines a lil and put the clamp back in 180 out from original the will clear fine.

The reason for gaskets and a slip joint in the crossover is so the headers fit a "variety" of engine and head combinations - iron or various alum heads, stock stage, alum, 4.1 and other blocks, before and after machine work.

Having installed these headers on all the above, they seal better than any other header. The procedure we use when installing these headers is to leave at least one side loose and install the crossover and clamps. Then gradually tighten clamps and header until seated.

After a couple heat cycles, check and make sure all bolts are still tight. The headers will actually then conform to the specific engine.:)

Well I talked to TA about the problem I had with the header fitment and was told to send them back. I did. It was acknowledged that something was wrong and the driver's side header was replaced and the crossover was "adjusted". Yesterday the new set arrived. I did a trial fit and all is well.

Moral of the story....contact the vendor if something is wrong and they'll likely do what they can to make things right.

Sweet glad they resolved it .

Great customer service means repeat customers. I have a set on the way.

One of those Vice Grip welding clamps makes a great tool to get the joints close enough to slide the vband clamps over them.

mine slipped right together on the bench...once on the car they did the same. If you try the v-band to pull them together just make sure it is in fact pulling them together. I didn't use gaskets. Mine absolutely rock. GREAT header.
