I recently went to a QA1 coilover set up on the fron of my Turbo Regal.

I did the installation but I think I pulled a bone head move. The reason i say this was because the install was somewhat challenging and nothing like my Eclipse.

I am wondering what others going this route experienced? The challenge I had was lining the shock's top mount into the mounting perch. I had to jack the lower control arm up while watching the top mounting point to make sure it would go through the hole.

Now I think my bone head move was simply that the shock rod could have been exteneded more, in other words I took it straight out of the box and mounted while they probably compressed it to ship it.

I am asking specifically because I just purchased a poly set of bushings for upper and lower and I am trying to determine whether i want to disassemble and take to the shop to have the old busings pressed out and the new ones pressed in. Or should I simply drop the car off.

Call QA1 first.
If you were supposed to twist the shock to release it, then you may have already hurt it.

If it's OK, then uninstall it, release it, or how ever they prescribe to compress it for installation, or have the jacks/ bits around to compress it with the upper end installed.

Unless you really like DIY'ing some of the suspension stuff is worth paying to have done. But, finding a decent front end shop is getting more and more difficult.....

I tried the qa1 coilovers but they were a pain.I dont think they were installed wrong but it made my car sit so low tire was hitting fender. They are real hard to get to them to adjust to.I sent mine back to jegs and got qa1 shocks and drop spindles.
