engine is running great.recently installed alcohol kit..
still tunning car..will post video of engine running,
but here is a picture for now..

will take to track after getting tires and
suspension parts to include brake upgrade..

oil pressure is perfect--60-70psi cold and 20psi hot after running hard all day on the street..with dual fans my engine temps is 160-170 degrees..If I get on it hard in hot heat with several runs it will go to 180 but quickly return to 170 when at red lite,and that is with no air damns on bumper..I run 20/50w valvoline racing oil with zddp.I have about 4k miles on motor and tranny since build..next I would like to install roller rockers with gn1 valve covers..

Picture of completed motor with dual nozzles for alcohol and 7th injector...
running turbo tweak chip for alcohol and 100 octane in the tank...
now time to work on suspension,tires,alignment,and paint job after interior work is done..This car definately takes up most of my spare time when I'm off,but that's a good thing.Keeps me out of trouble if you know what I mean...(lol)

Made it to the track Saturday night. I shut down just before the end of the quarter mile...afraid I was going to break out (under 11.50..I have no cage or harness) and ran an 11.20@122+ Needless to say I was given a warning :biggrin:

It's worth doing if you have the know how. You need a good machinist to make some custom parts.

OE dog bones
OE spider hold down plate
OE roller Lifters

what am i missing as was just trying to make a parts wish list so that when i go to the "U-Pull it" i won't miss anything.

Would this mod work on an 84-85 block?

You will need standoffs made to hold the spider. Block needs to be faced, drilled and tapped to bolt the standoffs down.

besides the lifters being made to work,whats all neede besides the cam,is there any unique parts that attatch to the cam?special timing chain.cam button,any thing?

When you switch to a roller cam..... the lobes themselves have no taper like a hyd flat tappet cam.... therefore there is nothing to keep the cam from moving fore and aft inside the engine...... which some refer to "cam walk". One of the more popular ways to stop the cam from walking on our motors.... is to make the cam button where you can shim it to force the cam to stay against the thrust surface on the block.

Since each block is different...... and each timing cover is different.... you must have some adjustability in the cam button to adjust the shims so you can set the cam end play just right.

I am sure there is multiple vendors that carry the shimmable roller cam button...... one vendor I have used is Mike at FullThrottle. They are top notch. Give them a call.... they will hook you up...
