Just installed gen II. Anyone have the basic setup for e85? The car is not ready to be driven, but I have burnt a lot of e85 at an idle. I have the extreme G chip from Eric, production 4.1, maf off my chevy venture (supposed to be the same as 96 impala) , 80lb injectors, double pumper fuel setup, pt67 turbo, ported stock heads, 215/220 roller cam, stock rockers, lonnies stage 2 trans, 3500 stall.

I can get the car to idle well if I tell the gen II it has the aluminum ls1 maf. If I tell it has the Lt1 maf, it idles, but the iac count is in the 100's, 20's the other way. I followed the instructions and haven't changed anything else yet. Any input would be great. Thanks

What version is in the Gen2?

The base tune is in the chip. It should run decent if you have the configuration and setup right.

I didn't know Eric was making Extreme G chips? If it is a G chip the Maf Out setting should be Ext/Pro.

Use the Maf In setting that works the best to get the car running. Once it's running you can look at afr's and see where it's at.

Its not Eric its Bob Bailey that burns the extender chips. The chip needs to be set up for your combo, if it is make sure you follow the gen 2 set up. If you have a lt maf then set it to that, no need to change if you arent running that specific sensor. What is your af at ratio or o2 counts idle fully warmed up with the ls maf?

Yes, you can buy Extreme G chips through Eric at TT. I'm sure he is working with BB to make them though.

Just bought the gen II from full throttle a few months back and the screen shows v1.21. I ordered the chip from eric, and it is a g chip for my setup. I followed the basic setup, which was very straight forward. I had a gm maf sitting here and tried it, but the car would hardly idle. I set the gen II for the stock maf, and it idled good for a bit, then started surging. I then borrowed the maf from my 02 chevy venture, which is supposed to be the same as the 96 impala and it idle good for a bit, then started surging again and the iac counts were 125 with the gen II set for 3" lt1 maf. I then set the gen II to lsI aluminum maf, and seems to work great. My afr is around 9.8 at idle according to the plx gauge which is set to display e85 scale. The o2 volts and wide band correction are at 0 on the sensor screen of the gen II, power logger shows around 13.4 for afr. Now my blm was 149, so I probably have the usual exhaust leak, but I will hunt that down later. I don't have the wide band tied into the power logger yet. This engine build is all new, and I just want to make sure I get off on a good start, being this is the first time I played with a gen II.

A lot of the 94-96 Impala guys replace the MAF with one from a Camaro...it is a little bigger in diameter. Could you have a Camaro MAF?

They both look the same. Impala 3",Camaro 3.5". Both aluminum.

That '02 MAF should be a 3" LT1 MAF. However, if it runs better on the LS1 setting, then that's ok. Start there, then use the "User Tunes" to adjust the fuel to get the BLM's closer to 128. A BLM number of 148 at idle means you need to add approx 15% fuel in the Low Load User Tune in the idle RPM area.
This is a snip from the instructions I send with a Gen II kit:
