GER convertors

Not asking for self but friend has a 95 Cougar w/4.6 V8 and is looking for a convertor for the AOD-E and prices are pretty high($700+). He called GER and they quoted $399 for a 10" 2800 and Precision wants $299 to restall his stock one. Are GER ok or just good magazine ad? Where to get a decent price on an AOD-E conv?

Sharpen the spikes on your track shoes and HEAD the OTHER WAY!! That stuff is TOTAL JUNK!! BTDT.. The tech help is WORSE.
A true bunch of A$$holes...Over $1000 for a total POS for a street rod, BBC / T-400 combo.. ended up throwing the $hit in the dumpster!!
Now ask me how I REALLY feel!!

Not my car it's a friends and it needs a little looser convertor as it only flashes about 1800 and really needs a little help out of the hole. A 2500 12" would be good. Bruce what can you get him one for? I heard the Lincoln Mark VIII stock one has more stall but we can't find one around here!
He doesn't mind paying for a good conv but the $700+ is a little sticker shock!

I cked out in shop today for you and I could give you a quality converter with a 1year irregaurdless warranty for 700.00 plus freight.

I am told to do correctly takes some nice parts and lots of set up time.

Anyway, thought I would drop a note.

STAY AWAY
I ordered a converter for my Plymouth from them. They cashed my money order and never sent me my converter.
Several calls and heard Its on its way. 3 months later what who we never cashed any money order. they hung up on me several times. I went to the JAG on the base I was at, and they called them and sent them 2 letters. Finally got my money back.
