It's about to go in the shop to get all it's dings and dents removed and I'm really concidering going matte black (flat). I see some ppl have talked about doing it and it's a big step away from "normal".
I'd love to hear opinions, concerns, suggestions...I think it will look mean but I'm also afraid of making a mistake.

you cant wax it, it shows scratches that you cant compound out. its ok for a car you just take to show or you dont care if it gets scratched out dented.

Thanks..interesting read...luckily I have a buddy that's gonna give me the hookup...he is the paint guy at a dealership. He said there is a matte black that actually uses a clear coat for some protection. My car isn't driven much anyways.
Gonna go over all the options this week. But would still like to hear more opinions.
Thanks!

that look seems to be picking up steam hear in LI, i have seen a bunch of different cars (new and old) with it and Most look like crap.
Good luck

Edit -- some of them cars in that link look badass, either the camera helped or the ones i have seen haven't been done right.

I agree...it's tricky to pull off right. From what I hear it's actually easier to pull off the look with a vinyl wrap...but I prefer paint.

Nothing looks better then a fresh wax on a glossy surface keep it classy not ashy

been seeing more and more matte jobs at the Lake George Car Show. Done right, one mean look, I love it, eventually i'll do it to my car.
